General

Registration
Online workshop registration has been ended. During the Festival, registration at the Festival Office. For opening hours and telephone number see Festival Office

Payment
Note! Only cash is valid at the Festival Office.

Cancelling
Should you decide to cancel your registration, it must be done in writing by 10th May 2010 at the latest. If cancellations are made later, you will be refunded only after presenting a medical certificate. A fee of €10 will be withheld to cover the expenses.

Tickets
Tickets for all the events will be available in advance from Masrah Association and at Lippupalvelu www.lippupalvelu.fi, (service fees: tel +358 - 600 10800, 1,83 €/min+local telephone fee, tel +358 - 600 10 020, 5,99 €/call+local telephone fee). Tickets for the Peacock shows will be available also at the Peacock Theatre. During the Festival, tickets will be available at the Festival Office until 6 pm and any unsold tickets will be available at the door before each event. Tickets will also be sold by many Oriental Dance teachers as well as some shops selling dance training equipment.

Special groups entitled to discount (with identification): students,
pensioners, unemployed, persons in basic military training.

Want to perform?
Should you want to perform in one of the Festival shows, please contact Tuija Rinne (e-mail: tuija.rinne@pp.inet.fi) and send a dvd-demonstration to Masrah/Yalla, c/o Riitta Hintikka, Plazankuja 3 A 1, FIN-00580 Helsinki, Finland. NB for Yalla! Welcome and Yalla! Show, you can only offer group performances, whereas both solos and groups are welcome for the Open Stage shows.

Discount
Almost all the workshops have a double pricing, the lower of which is for the members of the Finnish dance associations Masrah and 7HT (Dance of the Seven Veils). You can receive the discount only if you have paid your 2010 membership fees.

Video recordings and photography
Any unauthorised photographing or video recording during the workshops or shows is forbidden. Should you wish to take photos or make a video recording during a workshop, please, ask permission of the teacher.

FESTIVAL CENTRE
The workshops, Festival Office and bazaar are all located in the same place at Taiteen talo (the House of Arts), Kaikukatu 4 A in the district of Hakaniemi, where the workshops will be held in the excellent studios of the National Opera Ballet School. The House of Arts is situated in the inner court. The main gate, at Kaikukatu 4, is on the east side of the Haapaniemi square.

The Festival venue also boasts a restaurant where you can enjoy beverages, excellent vegetarian lunch and coffee. See www.kasvisbaari.fi. Groups may order meals in advance.

On arrival for your first workshop, please, register at the Festival Office, which is situated in the House of Arts, tel. +358 50 591 1065. The opening hours are

Fri 11th June 8.30 am - 6 pm
Sat 12th June 8.30 am - 6 pm
Sun 13th June 8.30 am - 4.15 pm

Bazaar
The bazaar will offer a selection of dance costumes and accessories as well as music. Should you wish to rent bazaar space, the Board of the Masrah Association will answer your inquiries. masrah.posti@pp.nic.fi

Second hand bazaar
You may bring second hand costumes and accessories to this bazaar. Every item should be labelled with the price and your mobile phone number. You may leave the items on sale at the bazaar on Thurs 10th June at 3 - 6 pm and collect the unsold items on Sun 13th June at 2 pm at the latest.

Transport
The House of Arts is situated in the Hakaniemi district, which you can reach easily by using the public transport system. The bus and tram stop closest to the Festival Centre is called Haapaniemi, at the edge of the Haapaniemi square. The tramlines 6, 7A and 7B drive along Hämeentie, as will most buses of the line-groups 60 and 70. If you purchase a day ticket, valid for 1 to 7 days, you are entitled to travel by tram, bus, commuter train and metro.
